Mohonk Road House
High Falls, NYThe first of two case study projects — this house sits overlooking a running steam along a hillside surrounded by dense forests. To take advantage of the site’s natural beauty, we situated the main great room facing the stream with a double-height window wall that frames the flowing stream and surrounding trees, filling the space with natural light and tranquil views. A sun deck and screened porch flank this room, creating multiple areas for outdoor leisure. In addition, a walk-out basement allows for enjoyment of the site year-round.
