Franconia Farmhouse
Easton, NHLocated on a hillside overlooking the White Mountains of New Hampshire, this farmhouse addition expands the internal program of the original house while framing views of the surrounding landscape. An exterior deck and covered walkway connect the main house with the existing accessory structure containing different workshops for the owners. The two primary volumes, including a painting studio and living den, extend up through the plane of the canopy, with single-pitched roofs echoing the many clapboard barn structures in the area. A flat green roof connects the two volumes and covers a communal dining area, symbolizing the heart of the home.
